Number 2 could be a few different issues... There could be errors in your web config file that cause that. You may also get that if you do not have SP1 installed for VS 2005, and once you install it, you may have to delete some system files that keep track of intellisense.
For number 1, I think it should be there if you installed the Ajax Extensions, but we only have a script manager on the masterpage, so it isn't something we deal with very often..
well I jumped the gun on my question, because even though intellisense squiggles the script manager, it still works. (well not completely I have other problems which I put in another post. Where I have three identical panels on the same page and each are wired to its own rounded corner extender, but only 1 only works panel is rounded. it shows up in the vs2005 but not in the browser. )
I have put it in the master page. I am not sure why the script manager is not in my ajax toolbox but pasting the code works. I just thought it was the wrong code because of the squiggle and it not being in the toolbox.
